TKP-ML IB: Revolutionary Salute to the National Democratic Front of the Philippines on Its 52nd Founding Anniversary!

Revolutionary Salute to the National Democratic Front of the Philippines on Its 52nd Founding Anniversary!

April 24, 2025

To the Comrades of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines,

On the occasion of the 52nd founding anniversary of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), we extend our most militant and heartfelt revolutionary salutations. This anniversary is not merely a date to be marked on the calendar of the Philippine revolution, it is a reminder to all revolutionary and progressive forces across the globe of the resilience, creativity, and undying commitment of the Filipino masses and their revolutionary vanguard to the cause of national liberation, people’s democracy, and socialism.

The NDFP stands today not simply as a united front organization, but as the clearest expression of the proletariat’s strategy in a semi-colonial and semi-feudal country undergoing protracted people’s war. The unity of diverse revolutionary classes, sectors, and organizations under the leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) reflects the fundamental Leninist understanding of how to forge the revolutionary alliance necessary to smash the ruling classes’ hold and to establish a people’s democratic state.

The founding of the NDFP in 1973 is the concrete realization of the correct organization of a revolutionary united front, bringing together the democratic classes of the Filipino people under a common banner. It is the embodiment of Mao Zedong’s strategy of the united front, brought to life on Philippine soil.

In the face of relentless fascist attacks by the reactionary US-Marcos-Duterte regime, the NDFP has persisted and grown stronger, guiding the masses through the storms of counterrevolution and showing the world how Marxism-Leninism-Maoism is not merely a theory, but a weapon, sharp and alive in the hands of the oppressed. Despite state terror, fake surrenders, red-tagging, and the brutal killings of revolutionaries, the NDFP remains rooted in the people’s struggle and continues to deepen its ties to the masses.

The Filipino people, through the NDFP and the revolutionary armed struggle led by the New People’s Army, are advancing a revolutionary process that has survived decades of imperialist wars, neoliberal devastation, environmental plunder, and reactionary betrayal. At a time when many parties and organizations around the world have bowed before the might of capital or degenerated into reformism, the NDFP has stayed the course, a living testament to the universality and correctness of Mao Zedong Thought and its application to Philippine conditions.

Comrade Jose Maria Sison, one of the principal founders of the Philippine revolution, made important theoretical contributions that demonstrate how Marxism-Leninism-Maoism can be applied in a creative and concrete way to national conditions. His writings and leadership have provided critical guidance to the Philippine revolutionary movement and continue to be studied and engaged with by communist forces internationally.

Comrades, the world is once again pregnant with contradictions. The old-world order is crumbling under the weight of its own crisis. Imperialist blocs led by the US, China, Russia the EU, and their regional lackeys are waging war for markets, resources, and strategic control, dragging humanity closer to inter-imperialist conflict and barbarism. The broad masses of workers, peasants, and oppressed nations are being crushed under the intensifying burdens of exploitation, inflation, state repression, and climate collapse.

In this context, the Philippine revolution stands as a burning torch in the darkness, school of revolution for the oppressed masses of the world. The persistence of protracted people’s war in the Philippines is not only a national struggle, but an international contribution to the world proletarian revolution. We draw inspiration from your experience, your sacrifices, and your clarity in navigating the complex contradictions of the present era.

The National Democratic Front’s principled stand against US imperialism and all forms of local reaction is an embodiment of proletarian internationalism. Your unwavering support for the national liberation struggles of Palestine, Kurdistan, and other oppressed nations, and your solidarity with proletarian movements worldwide, proves that the line between national struggle and international revolution is not a wall, but a bridge.

Let this anniversary serve not only as a celebration of what has been achieved, but a clarion call to all genuine communist forces across the globe: the path forward lies in organizing the masses, building revolutionary united fronts, and preparing for the overthrow of the bourgeoisie through armed struggle.

We commit ourselves anew to strengthening proletarian internationalism, deepening our study and application of MLM, and marching together with the Filipino people and their revolutionary organizations toward a future free of imperialist chains and feudal exploitation.

Long live the National Democratic Front of the Philippines!

Long live the Filipino people’s revolutionary struggle!

Long live proletarian internationalism!

With Revolutionary Greetings,

TKP-ML International Bureau
